Why is CRHRA membership so “cheap” compared to other options?

The CRHRA is ran strictly by volunteers with the same passion for horses as the membership. CRHRA is a not for profit association. We do not have any overhead charges or sponsor expensive sport specific shows.

How long is my membership active?

CRHRA Membership term is from Jan to Dec of the current calendar year.  To keep your insurance coverage active we strongly suggest you renew your membership on or before Jan 1rst.

What provinces is CRHRA active in?

CRHRA is available in all provinces but Quebec.

How do I purchase a CRHRA membership?

The best way to apply for membership is through www.crhra.ca.  Memberships are active immediately.  If you know someone that does not have access to a computer you can print a copy of the printable application and have them mail it to the membership address.

I'm confused, how do I process my membership purchase?

A self help tutorial has been added to the sidebar menu.  Open the side bar and scroll down to the bottom.  Processing and Navigating CRHRA Membership should walk you through the process.

No, CRHRA is a "not for profit" association promoting recreational horse back riders in Canada (except Quebec).

What activities does CRHRA insurance cover?
CRHRA Insurance is widely accepted at most shows, clinics, stables, campgrounds and activities that do not require a sport license. Our coverage is the same as other available associations.  Feel free to contact CRHRA if you are concerned about coverage on your activities (ie: pony pulls, events with live ammunition are not covered).

Your horse is automatically covered if you’re a member. We insure you the member for any horse you ride anywhere in the world.

I can't get through on the phone number provided for membership.  What now?

If you're having problems getting through to membership feel free to call anyone on the list of directors.  Any one of those contacts will be able to help you.

Will I be receiving a confirmation after I complete my application?

CRHRA membership is ran by volunteer members.  Sometimes it takes a bit of time to process each membership as they are received.  You will receive confirmation in the mail with your membership number.  You can be confident that your insurance is active as soon as your payment has been processed.  Call the membership phone (or secretary) if you need your membership number for event organizers, moving to a new stable, campgrounds, etc.

How many people does a membership cover?

CRHRA does not offer family/group packages.  Every rider needs to have their own membership even if they share a pony/horse.
Members under age 18 will need a parent or guardian to process the membership.

Does CRHRA supply insurance for other horse clubs?

CRHRA is not an insurance company.  Our insurance is part of the CRHRA membership package.  If your members require insurance they can apply for a  CRHRA membership as long as the activities they participate in does not require a sport license.

Do you offer refunds?

No we unfortunately we cannot offer refunds on any products purchased. Unless there was a user error and several memberships were accidentally purchased.
